What is an industrial pallet?

The industrial pallet measures 1200x1000 mm, and is the standard pallet size for North and Central America. Despite having its origins in the US food industry and still sometimes being called a GMA pallet (Grocery Manufacturers Association), the industrial pallet is used across industries, for all types of consumer goods, and is the go-to pallet for general warehouse use.

What size is an industrial pallet?

Industrial pallets are the standard size in North and Central America and measure 1200x1000 mm. It’s an ISO recognised size, and it’s similar enough to the size of the Asian and European 1200 x 1000 mm that they are often interchangeable.

Industrial pallet vs. euro pallet

The euro pallet is smaller (1200 x 800 mm) and is the most common pallet used in Europe. The industrial pallet is bigger (1200 x 1000 mm) and is the most common pallet used in North and Central America. Industrial pallets are often too big for European automated pallet systems, which are designed to accommodate the smaller euro pallet.

A commitment to sustainability

At Cabka, the need for sustainability has driven our innovation and growth for more than 25 years, and it has solved numerous logistic and environmental challenges for our growing roster of clients. It continues today on multiple levels. We make most of our pallets and large containers from recycled materials, and their low weight, nestability, or foldability enhances the sustainability of the systems using them. They also save resources and reduce waste because they're durable and seldom need to be repaired or replaced. We make sustainability work for business, society, and the planet.
